Business Development Manager - London

Salary: As per contract of employment

Position: Permanent, Full-time

Place of work: Field based and home office
Main Office: Unit 221, Kingspark Business Centre, 152-178, Kingston Road, New Malden, Kingston upon Thames, KT3 3ST

Hours: Mon – Fri 09.00 – 17.00
These are the standard working hours, however you will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours, as you will be expected to travel to sites outside of these hours, as required.

Holidays: As per contract of employment

Line Director: Thomas Palfreyman (Joint Managing Director)

Reports to: Thomas Palfreyman but to work closely with Peter Gregory, General Manager Urban Planters London South West / London North .

Job summary: To drive sales in London South West & London North through prospecting and conversion of new local and National Account clients and by up-selling through existing client database.

Key responsibilities & duties:

  • Identify, contact and report on all potential prospects.
  • Obtain orders/contracts for the company in line with targets set.
  • Identify opportunities for up-selling within the existing client database.
  • Assist with identification, development and tendering for National Account clients within the Greater London area.
  • Travel to other parts of the UK if necessary and as directed.
  • Work closely with local branch staff for specifying accurately and enabling effective delivery to the client.
  • Work closely with National Account staff for production of quotes and handover of information.
  • Undertake any other duties required by the Management within jobholder’s competence.

 

Qualifications & Experience required:

Essential

  • Successful and experienced sales background in a relevant field.
  • Flare for design
  • Competent in IT
  • Based within or accessible to territory.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of selling within the interior landscape industry
  • Knowledge of territory and customer base

 

 

 

Exterior Grounds Maintenance Contract Mananger

Salary: As per contract of employment

Position: Permanent, Full-time

Place of work: Field based and home office
Main Office: The Granary, The Stables Business Park, Bristol Road, BS26 2TT

Hours: Mon – Fri 08.30 – 17.30
These are your standard working hours, however you will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours, as you will be expected to travel to Client sites outside of these hours, as required.

Holidays: As per contract of employment

Duties:
You are responsible for all associated and related duties connected with the job title as directed by the employer, the employer’s immediate supervisor, line manager or director through verbal and/or written instructions and whereby such verbal and/or written instructions may be amended from time to time according to the demands of the employer’s business.

Line Manager: Thomas Palfreyman (Joint Managing Director)

Responsibilities:

  • Development of existing National Account grounds maintenance clients in line with set targets and agreed strategy
  • Assist in development of new business
  • Assist Thomas Palfreyman in development of new ground’s maintenance and soft landscaping business
  • To agree pricing strategies for all customers versus market competition in conjunction with Thomas Palfreyman.
  • Develop, manage and maintain health and safety standards for grounds maintenance and soft landscaping exterior work.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of new products, tools and operations and ways in which they can be creatively used to support clients.
  • To identify key personnel within existing Client accounts, develop relationships to influence decision makers.
  • To maximise as many of our core services with each Client.
  • To assist, mentor and support the franchise network in fulfilling our service delivery in line with Client expectations.
  • Develop, agree, implement and achieve a schedule of meetings and quality visits for each Client.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures and ensure they are also being implemented throughout our Client’s sites as required.
  • Ensure all Client SLA’s & KPI’s are in place and being met.
  • Maintain up to date client records as laid down by the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all billing requirements for national account clients are up to date and communicated as per the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Act upon and manage all grounds maintenance and soft landscaping enquiries from national account’s client’s sites, clients, franchise network and head office.

To provide effective monthly reporting as directed by the Thomas Palfreyman.

 

 

 

Exterior Grounds Maintenance Supervisor - Atherton, Leicestershire

We currently require a grounds maintenance supervisor to take responsibility for a grounds team in the Warwickshire region. Candidates must have previous commercial contract management experience within a similar working environment, be good leaders as well as being able to organise and manage their work efficiently.

This will be very much a ‘hands on’ roll, with candidates expected to have qualifications including PA1 & PA6 certification, and a good all round knowledge of horticulture.

Plant Maintenance Technician - Matlock Office, Derbyshire

We currently require an Plant Maintenance Technician to work within an experienced maintenance team at our Matlock office covering the Derbyshire area.

The role will be to deliver high quality plant maintenance to our plant displays and give high levels of customer care service to our customers, their staff and visitors.

The Plant Maintenance Technician will be expected to –

  • To clean, water, feed and control pests and diseases on live plant material;
  • To replace dead, dying or overgrown plants;
  • To clean and maintain replica plants when necessary;
  • To complete maintenance dockets accurately and obtain customer signatures;
  • To complete time sheets and to ensure all paperwork is handed in promptly;
  • To ensure all maintenance is carried out on a regular basis;
  • To always act as a representative of the company, and to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied;
  • To work in the plant store as and when required;
  • To work on installations when required;
  • To carry out exterior plant maintenance when required;
  • To inform the General Manager of anything that may be useful in securing sales, including any information of use in the securing of additional maintenance contracts;
  • To initiate suggestions and report customer comments for improvement to the company’s performance;
  • To comply with all relevant health and safety requirements;
  • To undertake any other duties required by Management within the job holder’s competence.

Experience Required

  • Working knowledge of interior plant material;
  • Flair for design;
  • Ability to communicate easily at all levels;
  • Current full driving licence.

Installations & Plant Maintenance Technician - Matlock Office, Derbyshire

We currently require an Installations and Plant Maintenance Technician to work alongside our experienced installation and maintenance teams at our Matlock office covering the East Midlands and South Yorkshire area.

The role will be to prepare and install plant displays as well as deliver high quality plant maintenance on our plant displays and give high levels of customer care service to our customers, their staff and visitors.

The Installation and Plant Maintenance Technician will be expected to –

  • To organise installations;
  • To be responsible for ensuring that installation of plant displays etc are carried out to the Company and Customer’s specification;
  • To deliver high quality plant maintenance on our plant displays and give high levels of customer care service to our customers, their staff and visitors;
  • To ensure all paperwork is completed as required;
  • To ensure of customer satisfaction is achieved always;
  • To keep good stock levels of all pots and plant material;
  • To monitor quality of all incoming goods, stock and new installations
  • To ensure the plant room is kept as clean and tidy as possible.
  • To make significant contribution to the work of the company through an innovative and flexible approach;
  • To undertake any other duties required by management within the job holder’s competence.

Office Administrator / Stock Controller - Matlock Office, Derbyshire

We currently require an Office Administrator / Stock Controller to work within our busy Matlock office.

The role will be to deliver high quality administration and stock control as well as giving high levels of customer care service to our customers, fellow employees and visitors.

The Office Administrator / Stock Controller will be expected to –

  • Manage internal database;
  • Provide day to day administration;
  • To assist the sales team with general administration and the compiling of sales quotations;
  • Process all new sales, additions, reductions and terminations following set procedures;
  • Ensure the maintenance dockets are printed and collated for the technicians following set procedures;
  • Deal with any day to day problems arising from collections or deliveries; liaising with the store man as appropriate;
  • To actively comply with and promote all working policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that all office equipment is in working order at all times;
  • Provide the administration of petty cash;
  • To ensure that the office space is well maintained;
  • Maintaining and updating health & safety documentation and records;
  • To uphold confidentiality at all times regarding Urban Planter clients and business;
  • Take and organise deliveries;
  • 60% IT based 40% hands on;
  • To provide support to the accounts department;
  • To cover other areas of responsibility as requested by the General Manager.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office software;
  • An ability to use advanced functions of word processing software to produce well presented, clear, grammatically correct documents;
  • An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • An ability to use different types of computer software for a variety of tasks;
  • An ability to prioritise, plan and organise work whilst in a busy environment;
  • A commitment to the ethos, values, aim and objectives of Urban Planters;
  • Enthusiastic, good motivational skills;
  • Developing and maintaining effective office systems and procedures;
  • Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisations requirements;
  • Numeracy and literacy competence.

Desirable Criteria

  • A knowledge of plants;
