plants lining the wall

Castle Donington, Derby
April 2019

Long-standing client Cooper Parry came to Urban Planters with a challenge: to create an interesting planting scheme in an awkward space between two sliding door entrances to its East Midlands office in Castle Donington.

The lack of space, busy footfall and dramatically fluctuating temperatures in this space meant creative thinking was needed to find the perfect solution.

As part of an overall planting refresh for the building, Cooper Parry also asked for a homely, biophilic look, to create a domestic, relaxed feel.

Products used

A densely planted green wall with a variety of UV-resistant artificial plants forms a vibrant and lush green arch to welcome people as they entered the building.

A selection of live large-leafed plants in natural pots were casually positioned around the workplace. Kentia palms, Philodendron, Chamaedorea metallica, Dracaena fragrans ‘Janet Craig’ & Asplenium nidus ‘Osaka’.

“Cooper Parry are all about Disrupt: Lead: Make Life Count! The wellbeing of our staff is hugely important to us. We have therefore worked with Urban Planters for a number of years and provided them with quite a tough sketchy brief during the fit-out of our East and West Midlands offices. They take the time to listen, get to know what we are trying to achieve and have nailed the brief every time. Paul Rogers in particular has worked with us to achieve exactly what we want on time, on budget and with a first-class delivery. I cannot recommend Urban Planters highly enough, not just for their delivery but also aftercare.”
