A Falmouth hotel bar boasts near panoramic views of the River Fal and now a three-metre Ficus microcarpa ‘Nitida’ tree right in its centre, thanks to a new scheme by Urban Planters South West.
The scheme for the historic Greenbank hotel centres around the bar, and aims to create focal points within to compliment the views outside.
Ben Young, the hotel’s General Manager, is no stranger to the benefits a good planting scheme can bring to a hotel:
“I have integrated live planting schemes in 4 separate hotels that I’ve had the pleasure of running across the County from Padstow to St Ives and most recently at the Greenbank hotel in Falmouth where we have several feature pieces.
“Wherever I have used Urban Planters I have noticed a palpably positive effect not only on our guests but also on our staff, who enjoy working alongside living things, and sharing their workplaces with them.
“The reaction from our guests and visitors is always positive and the plants make a bold alternative to cut flowers which last only a matter of days, as opposed to years!”
