Pupils at Thurgoland CE Primary School got a lesson last week in how to look after plants, and how plants in turn will look after them.
Urban Planters Leeds’ Joseph Potts gave a talk to a group of children at the local school as part of Science Week to introduce them to the wonders of house plants.
Using a range of diagrams, Joseph explained what plants need to survive and thrive, then showed the children how plants improve our indoor air and sense of wellbeing.
At the end of the talk, Joseph helped the children to plant a sunflower seed each in a pot to take home. He also gave them some advice on how to keep plants healthy.
The children all seemed very engaged with the talk and planting workshop: hopefully there are some aspiring interior landscapers among them!
