Designing planting for a mythical parallel world isn’t always easy, but our external team love a horticultural challenge!

The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort’s new LEGO MYTHICA attraction is themed around a mythical world, where LEGO creatures come to life.

To help create an immersive experience for visitors, Urban Planters’ Terry Coutts and his external landscaping team designed a scheme using replica planting such as grasses, palms, hydrangeas and Birds of Paradise to provide an exotic backdrop for the mythical LEGO creatures positioned around the attraction.

We also used green wall panels to screen off views of fences and buildings, adding to the immersive feel.

By working on the scheme from the early stages of construction and returning at the end of the project to finesse the look and feel, we were able to create planting that was fully integrated with the setting and enhance the stories being told in the scenery around the rides.
