Metro

Metro
Salford

When the Metro building in Salford Quays was struggling to soften the din of their busy reception area, they asked Urban Planters North West if they could solve the issue with plants.

Metro wanted to find a way to reduce noise levels for people using a meeting within the reception area, without blocking movement or breaking up the space too much.

We suggested barrier troughs with tall planting to create subtle barriers which reduce ambient noise without impacting on the look of the space. The scheme created a seamless feel, with the troughs colour-matched to the surrounding metalwork.

Keep it down!

Noise levels can be a significant factor in how productive and, ultimately, happy we are in the office. A recent study by IRIS Clarity found that a staggering 71% of workers wishing they had a quieter workplace.

Plants are proven to be effective at reducing indoor noise, their leaves, branches and bark absorbing and deflecting noise and dampening sounds by interrupting the passage of sound waves.
